Anyone who has watched tv shows or movies about wildlife has probably thought about going to Africa at least once, and possibly thought about it seriously.We never had until about a year ago...

We went and while it was not a cheap trip for this blue-collar type, it was fantastic. SO good that I, for one, will be going back. (Note that the rest of the family feels the same!) Every place we went was great and showed us things that... well, we never thought to see and enjoyed very much.

Mashatu Game Reserve was special though-

The environment, the wildlife and I think especially the people made it the best part of the trip by far.

As always, thanks for trying to show us the Tiger at Mashatu, Elvis!

Maybe we'll find it next time!

This site has been up since the fall of 2009 with very few changes since a few months after it started- when I finished getting all of the content published. It had been hosted on one of my own computers in my home, but was moved to an outside hosting service in 2011. A number of additions were made at that time as well- another display of vacation photos (San Diego this time) and a personal blog mostly about my photography along with galleries for both.

In March of 2012 the webhost screwed the whole thing up with a secret server software upgrade that brought this blog down.

I did have all of the data required to rebuild the sites, but it will be a time consuming process.
